VISUAL ARTS

Mont Albert has a very large, well equipped art room which includes an electric pottery kiln.

All students from Prep to Grade 4 participate in weekly art lessons.  Grades 5 and 6 attend a double lesson every fortnight.

The Visual Arts curriculum is VELS based and covers the following art areas:

·         Painting

·         Drawing

·         Construction

·         Modelling

·         Threads & Textiles

Where possible, topics and activities are chosen according to the classroom integrated units of work.  Many art lessons are based on studies of individual artists and art styles.

As well as displays of art work around the school, student work is often exhibited in local and community events, such as the Surrey Hills Festival and the Mont Albert Art Exhibition.
