SCHOOL CAPTAINS
Faith Morgan & Tom McGoldrick
I am honored to be the female 2012 School Captain. It was exhilarating when the announcement was made late last year at Assembly. I have always looked up to previous School Captains, and to now be one is a fantastic feeling!
I am looking forward to the responsibilities and challenges. I hope that younger students will look at me as both a role model and a guide. This year will be exciting and I hope, together with Tom, and the other House Captains and Vice Captains, will be one of the best lead yet! Faith.
As School Captain for 2012 I will try my hardest at all times to help our school. I feel I can bring a lot to the table in 2012. I think I have been given a great opportunity and for that I am very grateful. I think one of my goals for the year will be to get to know the junior school students a bit more. I am really excited this year and I think Faith and I will make a great team. Tom.

OP-ED COLUMNIST
How About Better Parents?
By THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN
Published: November 19, 2011
IN recent years, we’ve been treated to reams of op-ed articles about how we need better teachers in our public schools and, if only the teachers’ unions would go away, our kids would score like Singapore’s on the big international tests. There’s no question that a great teacher can make a huge difference in a student’s achievement, and we need to recruit, train and reward more such teachers. But here’s what some new studies are also showing: We need better parents. Parents more focused on their children’s education can also make a huge difference in a student’s achievement.
